Cotd for Thursday, September 18, 2014 from The Druid Craft Tarot by Philip & Stephanie Carr-Gomm. Illustrated by Will Worthington.
Strength: The meeting of the wild and civilized selves. Drawing this card in a reading may indicate a generous and wise person in your life, or it may signify that you are entering into a deeper relationship with the forces of life and of Nature. Some spiritual and religious teachings tell us to shun these forces, but DruidCraft celebrates them, showing us how we can open our bodies and hearts to the energies that flow through the cosmos, which can heal, empower and enliven us. You will find the Wild Wisdom that sings in the depths of your soul. (pg. 126)
“Here in this card, we see their union: the boar represents the wild, animal side of our nature, while the woman represents our more sophisticated, cultural self. By uniting these two parts of ourselves we become empowered in a way that connects us more deeply with our own humanity – and at the same time with our own divinity.”
The sense of well-being and harmony continues today through the Strength card as we come to better terms with an understanding and the blending of our primal natures with our cultural sides. Life experiences and maturity help in this process, at lease we hope they do. The thing to remember is that all of us, no matter our physical ages, are at different points in our journey of self-discovery and understanding of the part(s) we play in this journey. Today as you interact with others pay attention to signs that may give you clues as to where they are on their journey. The lesson to be learned in this observation is one of non-judgmental patience. It can be a difficult exercise in being a completely objective observer, especially if you’re close to the person/situation. Dig deep. draw on the energy of the Strength card and rise above.
