Author and artist Marie White, refers to the image on this card as the Rose and the Lilly and describes the Two of Cups as the heart, beating and bleeding, taking in and moving out. Not opposites as you might suppose, but rather two energies working in tandem complimenting each other as they work together not against each other. Without push, there is no pull. A symbiotic relationship which brings about balance (there’s that word again…balance).
Union and partnership are strong aspects of the Two of Cups and this could mean both within ourselves and/or with others. Marriage is always a possibility, whether this is a romantic marriage, or the marriage of two sides (of the same coin) or of ideas. We’
