Three of Air
“Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.”
― Patrick Rothfuss,
Don’t you just hate it when you find yourself at a loss for words? Or you just aren’t able to fully communicate exactly what it is your want and need to say? It’s only later that it comes to you what you should have said, or what you wish you could have said. Usually you can’t go back and say them – the moment has passed and you know that bringing it up again will only make you look and sound silly. So what do you do? Play the conversation over and over in your head until you get it out of your system? Yes, you could do that, but a more productive solution might be to write it out. Put to paper what it is you would like to have said. Reconstruct the conversation on paper or the media of your choice (I still like to do it the old fashioned way and use paper and pen) and express yourself in your most eloquent, word-smith style that allows you to say exactly what you would have wanted to say. I find this is a great way to relieve stress and angst. Journaling can be great therapy, so get it off your chest.
