Three card reading for Monday, January 18, 2016 comes from the Tarot of the Hidden Realm by Barbara Moore, illustrated by Julia Jeffrey. Llewellyn Publications, 2013.
Three of Swords – Nine of Pentacles – Knight of Pentacles
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.” ~Carl Jung
Doing the work that you love brings it’s own rewards, and hopefully you are in a place to be doing just that. The Nine of Pentacles speaks to accomplishments from hard work. It focuses on the individual’s efforts, rather than a groups efforts – your contribution and successes. This about the life you’ve created for yourself and taking time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. There is a sense of solitude with this card, which can be a blessing. However, while you may feel protective of your life, there are ways to share without giving away everything. Are you thinking of making a change in your current circumstances? If so, you may want to consider holding out a bit longer. You don’t want to play your hand too quickly and possibly lose the high ground you have at the moment.
The Three of Swords is a card of sorrow and loss. The figure in this image is searching longingly for signs and messages from her lost love. Her hurt is fresh and so she is not yet able to let go of her longing. She becomes obsessed with her yearning and fails to notice her injured hand. Thoughts can become hamster wheels of obsession. It may very well be true that you’ve experienced something that caused you pain, but the way you are thinking about the event is keeping you from the natural process of healing and in fact, may be causing more harm, which may have permanent repercussions. Take care to not lose sight of your present goal by obsessing about news you’re waiting on. It serves no purpose but to keep you up at night and raise your blood pressure over something you have no control anyway.
The Knight of Pentacles energy is tenacious but patient. He is someone who balances the energy of intense inner drive with infinite patience. Experienced and skilled, he know that timing is everything and consequently waits until the moment is right before making a move. His quiet demeanor helps him maintain a high level of awareness of any situation.
Although we are starting the week off with The Magician (see this weeks Oracle Guidance, Soul-Full Sunday post) there is a cautionary word today to hold your cards close to your chest and wait for the right moment to play them. Soon…very soon.
Hoping you have a great start to your week!
