Three card reading for Wednesday, August 31, 2016 is from the Chrysalis Tarot by Toney Brooks and Holly Sierra. 2014-U.S. Games Systems, Inc.
Kali – Eight of Spirals – Papa Legba
“It’s expected of novels that they should explain the world and create the illusion that things are ultimately logical and coherent. But that’s not what I see around me. Often, events remain mysterious and unresolved, and our emotions reach no catharsis.” ~Damon Galgut
Unresolved issues have a way of creeping up on us when they are least expected and then bite us on the ass. I don’t know anyone that doesn’t have some type of unresolved issue that rears it’s ugly head from time to time. Just when you think (or don’t think) you’ve put it away for good, something will bring the issue back to front and center for you and today, that is why Kali has shown up in this reading. The attributes for this particular Tower is creative destruction. I find that I really like that description, for although this card brings a degree of chaos and destruction, it is ultimately for the best. Although that is usually too hard to fathom at the time, but when the dust settles, we find ourselves wondering why we fought against the eruption in the first place. Unresolved issues are monsters. Monsters that hide in our closets and under our beds. Monsters that can come at you when you’re not looking and you feel you’ve been blindsided. But, the truth is that they’ve been there all along and have just been biding their time to come forward. They have a way of creeping up on you.
Kali tells us that this situation is inevitable, but survivable, and our cooperation is needed to bring back order. Sometimes we just have to hold our breath, swallow the bitter pill, and allow order to be restored from the carnage. This can be an emotional roller coaster ride, which is why we try to hide and/or deny the issues, but until they are faced they will just keep cropping up. Until you do, you are likely doomed to repeat the process over.
The Eight of Spirals brings us answers. “The Eight of Spirals bodes well for rapid progress and successful conclusion of unresolved matters. Its about swift progress and receipt of long sought answers, symbolized by shooting stars.” (pg.38) That big, beautiful full Moon lets you know to trust your instincts and intuition, to follow where they lead. The answers are within your grasp.
Papa Legba –Strength– is here to assist you. He stands at the gateway between your subconscious mind and the Other world. “In your reading, Papa draws attention to desires that may pose a conflict to personal destiny and self-fulfillment. The transforming energy of Papa Legba, depicted by the engraving on the rock wall, asks you to let go and surrender your ego to the guidance found in the reading. (pg.14) Well, that’s a lot easier said than done.
So, are you ready to release your need for control, cooperate and allow your answers to be revealed as they are intended, and surrender to the journey that is yours? There are no promises of rose strewn paths, and there will likely be pain (mental and emotional) that must be endured before you can move forward.
