Explorer of Air – Ten of Water – Seven of Air
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
“I don’t much care where –”
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.”
― Lewis Carroll,
Thought of the day: “Sometimes, returning to where you’ve been can change your perspective revealing a new path or direction you otherwise would have missed.”
- Where are you going?
- Where have you been?
- Is it too late to change your direction?
- Where do you want to be?
- Does going back to the beginning or to another starting point mean that you are going backwards rather than moving forward?
The last question is the one that I think may keep many of us from going to back to the “start” position. No one wants to go backwards after coming so far, right? But, where is the start position? Do we randomly pick a place in our life that as we look back we think, ‘I should have gone here or there or should have done this rather than that’? The problem with this kind of thinking is it feels like going backwards – that ole one-step-forward and two-steps-back, do si do. Since this is about getting a new perspective to see the way forward, why not apply that way of thinking to where your starting point should be. Don’t think of it as going backwards, but where you need to be to be able to see the path more clearly. Sometimes we need to go back to an intersection and choose another route when we travel because maybe the route we chose was closed. The same can be said for any other journey we embark upon.
If you could chose an intersection you’ve already passed through and make that your new starting point which one would you choose? Which direction would you choose this time? Remember, you can’t go back and change anything. This is not what this particular journey is about, it’s just making a different choice in your direction based on your new found perspective.
“Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.”
― J.K. Rowling
