Reading for Tuesday, February 17, 2015 is from The Gilded Tarot Royale by Ciro Marchetti.

Gilded Tarot RoyaleHierophant – Hanging Man – Nine of Swords

“I’ve learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom – how great is that?” ~Soledad O’Brien

Today’s reading speaks to me on a spiritual level, and the pursuit of enlightenment.  This means many different things to many different people.  On the one hand most of us are influenced with our own cultural beliefs, the path of our forefathers and the community we live in.  What is the expected “norm”.  But, once we are old enough to think for ourselves, we may discover we come to our own conclusions, thoughts, and practices that differ (greatly) from those around us.  This can cause inner conflicts and fears whether they are rational or not.

Unlike some, I like to see the Hanging Man in a reading because he brings a new perspective and says, “Hey hold on there, take a pause and sit with this for a bit before dismissing it offhand”.  He can be a game changer and flip what you were so sure of.  He asks a certain about sacrifice to surrender your intellect and self-will by soul searching with prayer and/or meditation.

Be open to the new thought processes and the new paths you are being shown.  You will have to leave your fear of what others may think or say, and proceed with an open mind.  Only then will you be at peace to pursue your path, the one that is just right for you.  The one that will lead you home.
