Three card reading for Tuesday, June 24, 2014 is from the Old English Tarot by Maggie Kneen, U.S. Games Systems, Inc. 1997
Three of Batons, Four of Cups, Ace of Cups
I often start my daily three card readings with the center card and today’s is the Four of Cups. Kneen’s description for this card: Weariness, disappointment, a bitter experience. While this card is surrounded by expansion, abundance, good returns on investment, satisfaction in matters of commerce, and of the heart, and…well you get the picture, and still there is a degree of “disappointment” sitting right in the middle. Shake it off! I don’t believe that successes and good fortune should ever be disappointing. So, situations and blessings didn’t play out or arrive as you had imagined, this doesn’t make them any less wondrous. Or at least it shouldn’t. Seriously, how can there be disappointment when surrounded by all this (potential) bounty? It’s true, there are some people who are never happy with their gifts and blessings — finding only disappointment in some minute aspect. The truth is, if you expect to be disappointed, then you will be.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. ~Melody Beattie
