Dreams of Gaia Tarot

“My own heroes are the dreamers, those men and women who tried to make the world a better place than when they found it, whether in small ways or great ones. Some succeeded, some failed, most had mixed results… but it is the effort that’s heroic, as I see it. Win or lose, I admire those who fight the good fight.”
George R.R. Martin

The Sage in this deck is number 7 of the Major Arcana, and represents communication. You have someone’s ear and you need to be mindful of the words you are filling it with.  Use this ability for good.  The right word, at the right time, to the right person (people) can influence for good or ill.

Twelve of Fire or The Hero is (Knight of Wands) is the ordinary person who does extraordinary acts.  The Hero is the person who puts others needs before their own.  There is someone in need of a Hero and it appears to be you.  You feel the need to step up and speak up for someone.  This is where your “Sage” abilities come into play.  The Sage is a storyteller and can best make his point in this fashion.  Maybe it takes the form of a fable, an example, to make your point.

The Five of Water (Cups) “represents feelings of fear, doubt, and hopelessness that can cloud our minds and hearts and give rise to confusion, misunderstanding, and anger.  These emotions are often born of our own pain or insecurities, and can cloud our ability to see the love that surrounds us.” pg.277  You will need to overcome any fear or doubt you may have to accomplish your quest as the Hero.  If you take on this quest, you may have to give yourself a pep talk if you feel doubt creeping in.  Know that you were chosen for this quest and it is up to you to see it through.

“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It is all part of the fairy tale.”
Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn
