The Week Ahead, reading is from the Bonefire Tarot by Gabi Gingus-West, published by Schiffer Publishing, Inc., 2016.
Page of Cups-Five of Cups-The Moon
“Once the soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.”
― John O’Donohue,
The week ahead could turn out to be an emotional roller-coaster. Beginning with the happy-go-lucky exuberance and innocence of the Page of Cups, to the brooding darker energy seen in the Five of Cups, and The Moon with her emotional tides showing us both the light side and the shadowy side, inner and outer.
You intuition will play a large part in how you perceive and navigate, and you will need to rely upon it heavily. “If you are in the energy of the Page, you may find you are in a soul searching frame of mind. You are rather fragile and this is not a time for spoken words. Your language of communication is the physical and intuition. Your every action will give you away. Your skin is so thin we may look inside and find your secrets. In the card, we see the girl’s heart is tethered to the outside of her chest, a precaution against losing it to a passing stranger.” pg. 140
The Five of Cups shows great disappointment and dismay. The Page is also a messenger and being of the suit of Cups, may have brought news pertaining to matters of the heart. You will notice the five cups that are being swept away in the stream three of which are spilled over. However the other two remain upright their contents unspilled. Are the spilled cups the reason for this out-pouring of emotion? “It is not too late to scoop them up and rescue their contents. So, my light spot in the darkness of this very sorrowful affair is all is not lost. The full cups echo the lights in the house and elements of the Universe joining forces to drag this poor young man back from the brink and set him on the road to recovery.”
“The Moon is a fabulous means for showing both the dark and lighter sides of a creative life. The lucky know where this creativity lies. Others may be yet to unearth it. But The Star has shown it exists and The Moon tells us to search our dreams. The discovery of this individual creativity is our own personal grail, and it is for this we have searched since we set out. The Bonefire Moon speaks of potential unrealized–and the consequences of this. It is often considered the card of instability, madness, and depression. I equate it with the life of the fulfilled versus the frustrated artist.” pg.53-54
This week be sure to pay extra attention to your intuition, listen with your heart and as always, follow your dreams.
