Keys to Success

Today I decided to pull 4 cards instead of the usual 3.  (Be sure to click on the image and see the larger, more detailed view.)  The Emperor, Eight of Pentacles, Nine of Pentacles, Queen of Wands.

Conservative on one end, (The Emperor) and a live wire on the other, (Queen of Wands).  They balance each other nicely I think when these energies are allowed to work together.  Too much restraint is just as bad as none.

Between these is a project I am working on, which led me to thinking of another one I want to start.  The hammer is creating in the Eight of Pentacles, and the Nine is accomplishment and success.  Success yes, but not without hard, diligent work.  Remaining humble is the key to success and enjoying it.    Creativity, Moderation, Dedication, Diligence, Commitment, and Humility are all keys to success.

DETOUR – Muddy Road Ahead

Today’s draw is from the new deck Tarot Leaves, by Beth Seilonen.  High Priestess, Ten of Swords and Page of Swords.

Signs, signs, everywhere are signs.

I see caution here, to step carefully, listen more and speak less.  There looks to be a delicate situation that needs careful handling.  Whatever is being flagged has “FRAGILE” – Handle With Care, stamped all over it.

It’s not in my nature to tip toe around, but the older I get,  the more I see the wisdom and necessity.  Being too rash by opening-mouth-&-inserting-foot, can lead to some awkward and embarrassing moments.

I have an appointment today for my haircut.  A place ripe with lots of conversation and to overhear, (whether you want to or not) news and stories you may otherwise never hear.  Many times what you hear in the beauty-shop is just what someone else has ‘overheard’ someplace else.  Even if it seems personal, or something I may know the truth of, I need keep my mouth shut and refrain from setting someone ‘right’.

When I head out today I will try to remember the DETOUR-Muddy Road Ahead advice I’ve been shown here.  The messages will be muddy and I need to steer clear of them.

Review – Audacious Action Angels, to the Rescue!

Audacious Action Angels Oracle

Author:  Lorraine Roe

Publisher:  Schiffer Publishing Ltd. 2011

Introduction: The AAA Oracle Deck

This is the deck your angels have been waiting for!  This is your spiritual training regimen.  This time, your audacious angels of action have a plan you can stick to.  That’s because anytime, anywhere, you can ask them for help, hints, humor, or hugs.

Grab the deck, pull cards, and see what action steps you can take to move toward your goal of being spiritually fit.  These cards take you from a wake up call, to a play date, on to some new clothes, to a divine threesome, and back to sleep.  During the journey, you may find you are growing spiritually to a size 3x or you are doing a dance with a vampire.  They are all metaphors for a spiritual personal training that includes giggles, rest, boundaries, creativity, sassiness, and a lot of sexy.  Your audacious action angels want to guide you, reassure you, and dazzle you with their wit and wisdom.

I own only a handful of Oracle decks, and I have to say this is the sassiest deck yet.  Come along, and I’ll show you what I mean.  But first, a few technical words.  The AAA is a 44 card deck that the artist Helen, channeled a painting a day for more than a month when she conceived  these cards.  They measure approximately 2.75 x 4.5 and have a high gloss finish.  The card stock feels thick and sturdy, and they shuffle well.  The accompanying book is slightly larger than the cards and is 94 pages.  The cards are not numbered, but are listed in alphabetical order.  The art is surrounded by a purple border and the backs are non-reversible as there are no reversed definitions.  All of this comes in a sturdy box with a flip top lid that has a magnetic closure-perfect for storing your deck between uses.  I love the the high quality boxes and card stock with which Schiffer uses in producing their decks.

In the front of the book there are five suggested spreads to use.  I pulled three cards to demonstrate the V spread.  The top two cards are labeled, My Heart, and the third lower card, Sexuality/Creativity.  (see below for more details)

This takes a look at the way your sacral chakra just above your groin (which holds energy of creativity and sexuality) is connecting with your heart chakra (which holds energy for love).  The card at the bottom of the V spread has a message for you about your sexuality and creativity.  The two above have messages about how your heart plays into that.    Eyefull Tower, High Octane, and Archangel of Mental Makeover.

I’ll give you a quick overview of each card used.

  • The Eyefull Tower; Your psychic eye is opening even wider.  Time to climb to new heights with your intuitive abilities.
  • High Octane; Vroom!  You are supercharged with spiritual power.
  • Archangel of Mental Makeovers;  If your thoughts are driving you crazy, Archangel Uriel is about to help you with a mental makeover.  Divine has a few new ideas up it’s sleeve.

The cover and the card backs show an angel in a mini skirt, wings, and white go-go boots.  She stands on top of the world.  If that doesn’t scream Audacious, I don’t know what does.

Dictonary.com lists these definitions for Audacious:

1.  extremely bold or daring; recklessly brave; fearless: an audacious explorer.

2.  extremely original; without restriction to prior ideas; highly inventive: an audacious vision of the city’s bright future.

3.  recklessly bold in defiance of convention, propriety, law, or the like; insolent; brazen.

4.  lively; unrestrained; uninhibited: an audacious interpretation of her role.

This Oracle deck is fresh, flirty, loads of fun, and well, you guessed it…  Audacious!  Your Audacious Action Angels are waiting to help you on your spiritual journey.  Don’t keep them waiting!

Messages, Time, and Being Prepared

Today’s draw was with this question in mind, “What do I need today?”  And the answer is…..A VACATION!.  LOL  Well, who am I to argue?  Alas, I don’t see a ‘real’ vacation in my near future.  I have been very busy lately, and really have not taken any time for me.  Today almost feels like a mini-vacation as I only have one grandchild with me.  We had an extra one for several days while her parents were on their honeymoon (with each other). Needless to say, Grandma is enjoying a little more peace and quiet than I’ve had recently.

The Hermit in me is yearning for some quiet study, writing, and contemplation time.  If you notice, one of the creatures at this Hermit’s feet holds the chain of a watch in it’s mouth.  It’s time, to make time, to take some time, even if it’s only for a short time.

For The Hanged Man, time seems to stand still from his perspective, although you can see there is movement all around him. A rabbit running, birds, bats, and bees, and all manner of creatures are going about their business and are probably preparing for winter as this looks very fall like.  On the tree you will notice another clock or watch, a stark reminder about time.

The woman in the Four of Swords is retreating for awhile, the lwb states she has just emerged from an emotional ordeal.  She seeks rest in her own quiet world as life carries on around her.  The same theme in a lesser degree carries through here.  But, also with a message of preparing.  Preparing for what?  For winter?  For a dark or trying time?  There seems to be an urgency to be prepared for something.  Like a squirrel gathering nuts for a long winter, a message of being prepared by gathering strength, resources, and an inner resolve.  Recharge those batteries and conserve energy, they seem to say, you’re going to need it.

Yesterday’s 3 card draw, which I didn’t get time to post, Queen of Wands, Page of Cups, and Ten of Pentacles.

The Page of Cups was the actual cotd, with the Queen of Wands as a jumper.  I rounded them out with the Ten of Pentacles.   That post was about an important message coming, and not from an expected source.

“Good news or news you have been waiting to hear is forthcoming, although it may not come by traditional means. That busy body you try to avoid most of time just may have the real truth of it, without even realizing. Pay attention to those little messages you might routinely ignore.”

The Queen of Wands energy can certainly be a busy body sometimes.  If she doesn’t have an outlet for all of her energy, she chatters away.  The figure in the Ten of Pentacles holds a sphere in her hand which was a gift from her ancestors.  She is able to discern future events using this gift.

Very interesting story so far, including Tuesday’s 3 card draw post.  Check back tomorrow for the next installment!
