β€œIt is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.”

~Paulo Coelho

In light of the recent Presidential Election here in the US and all the turmoil that was created around it, I thought it was a good time to see how the Path Forward looks. For this spread I am using the Ancestral Path Tarot by Julie Cuccia-Watts – US Games Systems, Inc.

I’ve drawn 6 cards that show us the beginning steps as we embark upon our new path.

  1. Step one; the pause before beginning the journey. Where I/we are at this present time. (Six of Sacred Circles)
  2. Step two; fears to be faced and left behind. (Five of Cups)
  3. Step three; what have I/we learned from this experience? What wisdom has been gained and will be carried through? (The High Priestess)
  4. Step 4; what can I contribute to make this journey easier? more rewarding? having a better chance of success? (Eight of Sacred Circles)
  5. Step 5; will the Path remain clear and unencumbered? will there be obstacles to hinder our footsteps? (10 of Swords )
  6. Step 6; who or what will help us clear the path? Will the journey progress forward? (Queen of Staves)

The journey begins with sharing prosperity with those who have helped you, with the mind set of paying-it-forward and being generous in thought and spirit. We begin the journey hopeful that we will have companions to travel with who are generous and supportive to moving forward. The fear of disappointment and inability to see any good in a situation is a fear that will need to be overcome.

If this past year has taught us anything, it is the hardship of being separated from our loved ones, in some cases separated from our employment and so many of the simple joys we have taken for granted. These have been hard lessons, harder for those who have lost friends and loved ones and the continued fear of uncertainty of the future. But, it has also taught us to be more appreciative of life and what do have. It has taught us to not take for granted the simple tasks of going to the grocery, eating in a restaurant, going to a sporting event; all those things we love to do.

How can I make a difference, how can I contribute to east this journey? Whatever skill set I may have, I can put to use in some way. Whether it is to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or teach a skill to someone else who can also contribute. But, whatever the contribution give with enthusiasm and also be willing to learn from others.

There will always be obstacles to impede the path, some will be movable, others may need to be detoured. This trick is to objectively assess the blockage, do not overreact, and a solution will present itself by either going around it, or removing it entirely. A little patience will go a long way here.

The Path will continue to go forward in one way or another. There will be fears to be faced, hard work to perform, hope and patience to hold onto, and by putting one foot in front of the other the journey forward will continue. The Queen of Staves is a perfect blend of body, emotions, and intellect. She is a committed woman of will, strength and determination. She will see the Path Forward is adhered to and keep the momentum going in the right direction.

On a personal note, when I drew the Queen of Staves I immediately thought of our Vice President Elect, Kamala Harris. πŸ™‚
